The Primetime Emmys are on Monday! I do predictions every year for the Emmys, Golden Globes and Academy Awards so expect this every so often. I like predicting and cheering on my favorite shows/movies, even though they don't always win. So enjoy?!
Drama Series
What Will Win: "Breaking Bad" (AMC)
What Should Win: "Breaking Bad" (AMC)
Honorable Mention: “True Detective” (HBO)

True Detective was an absolute masterpiece – top notch in every way. However, it should be in the miniseries category, and even the Emmys know that. This is Breaking Bad's year. Those final eight episodes were completely perfect and really challenged what television can be. Vince Gilligan and team deserve to be on that stage together, one last time. They cemented themselves in television drama history.

Comedy Series
What Will Win: "Orange Is the New Black" (Netflix)
What Should Win: "Louie" (FX)

Louie's fourth season was beautiful and developed into a whole new kind of show that deserves recognition but receives barely none. Louie needs to win so it can grab people's attention. It's at the top of the list of shows you SHOULD be watching. With a win like this, Louie can get the audience it deserves. Orange Is the New Black is fantastic, and I won't be mad if it wins; its first season was hilarious, heartfelt and creative. Still need to check out season 2.

Miniseries

Gotta be honest and say I have not seen any of these nominations (yes, even Fargo). So I can't really give my take, only my educated guess (this will become common). Sorry!

TV Movie
What Will Win: "The Normal Heart" (HBO)

Again, haven't seen any. But The Normal Heart looked fantastic and I really need to check it out soon.

Lead Actor in a Drama
Who Will Win: Matthew McConaughey ("True Detective")
Who Should Win: Matthew McConaughey ("True Detective") AND Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad")
Honorable Mention: Kevin Spacey ("House of Cards") & Woody Harrelson ("True Detective")

This is one stacked list. McConaughey blew it out of the water and into the solar system with True Detective. His performance will be studied for decades to come. But man...Bryan Cranston's final run as Walter White has to be noted. I highly doubt the Emmys will split the win, but no year needs it more than this one. Cranston in “Ozymandias” broke my heart, and his acting is the reason that episode is rated as one of the best in history. Kevin Spacey in House of Cards is always chilling and a thrill to watch. Harrelson also hit it out of the ball park, but was sadly overshadowed by McConaughey.

Goddamn if she is not the sexiest woman on TV right now, I don't know who is. Robin Wright kills it as Claire Underwood. And that news interview scene had me frozen for an hour. "The Good Wife" could sneak up behind her, though..

Louis C.K. will win this year. I have to believe this. I need to see his big happy smile up on that stage. Please. He showed his ass, and it wasn't for a comedy bit. HE DESERVES IT. But really, he was great this year.

I don't have much to say. Veep and Louis-Dreyfus are highly praised so I figured she'll win. Schilling gave a hell of a performance, though.

I love Jimmy Fallon, and he's done a great job for his first year on The Tonight Show. He stands out among the others. Stephen Colbert is just as great, but I really want Fallon to win it.

Honorable Mention: Peter Dinklage ("Game of Thrones")

Like Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul broke my heart as well (even more actually). He went to the depths of hell in the final season of Breaking Bad, and he out did himself in every scene. Peter Dinklage went to new territory with that trial scene in Game of Thrones, highly reminding me of Breaking Bad's iconic 'I am the one who knocks' scene.
